About Us
Our Story
I have always loved art, and after a 16-year career in art education and community arts, I finally opened the art studio of my dreams in May of 2020. I believe there is an artist in all of us, and I love providing people of all ages with opportunities to get creative and bring their ideas to life.
At Sunshine Sunflower Studio, we offer classes and workshops in a variety of mediums such as ceramics and pottery, clay sculpture, painting, mosaics, and more. Local artisans are invited to teach their crafts in jewelry making, metal smithing, cookie decorating, printmaking, etc.
We host private parties and events, as well as corporate team building and off-site workshops. We also have a gift shop featuring handmade items by local artists and makers. When you walk into Sunshine Sunflower Studio, we want you to feel like you walked into a warm hug, and leave feeling like you made new friends. Come make memories and masterpieces with us!
Laurie Canfield - Ceramic Artist
Sunshine Sunflower is also a creative brand. Laurie began studying ceramics while earning her BA at Eckerd College, and fell in love with the medium. Her artwork has been exhibited in a variety of juried shows and festivals throughout the Tampa Bay Area, Philadelphia's Main Line, and in Phoenix.
She earned an MA in Art Education from the University of Florida. She then spent eleven years as a public school art teacher, and five years working in community arts before opening Sunshine Sunflower Studio in 2020.
Her artwork is available for purchase locally at Sunshine Sunflower, West Valley Arts Council's HQ Gallery, and The Merchantile of Scottsdale.
