Create Your Own Candles 5/24 & 6/14

Service Description

Perfect for beginners interested in both clay hand building and candle making! In this two-part workshop, you will first learn to craft your own ceramic candle containers from clay with Laurie. Use clay slabs to construct your own candle holders and personalize with texture stamps and glazes. Then, return to the studio after your projects have been fired to learn how to pour your own candles. Candles will be made of all-natural soy wax, and you will learn how to choose the right wicks, add scents, and so much more! Once candles burn out, the ceramic container can be cleaned and reused as a cup forever! Or, for a small fee, you can bring it back to the studio for refills! Participants will make 2 container candles, and a few tea lights. All materials are included. Participants can choose to have their pieces dip glazed by staff, or to return and paint their candle containers themselves. Please plan to glaze by 6/3 so we have time to refire for you by candle pouring portion on 6/14! After pouring candles, they will need to cool and cure for several hours before transporting them home. Additional containers will be available for purchase during the second session of the class if you would like to make more than one candle.
